Volunteer Opportunities

We would love for our Fourth Grade Families to consider helping this year with any of the following projects or special events:

Special Positions - Each homeroom class will need three individuals to help coordinate volunteers in the following areas:  P.E. Volunteers, HOOT Booth Volunteers, and Fling Artwork Volunteers.  Please contact your child's homeroom teacher directly if you are willing to handle one of these areas.

Throughout the Year - Chaperons are often needed for field trips.  Check the Special Events section of this website and contact your child's homeroom teacher if you are interested in accompanying the class on a listed trip.

Pioneer Fair Preparation - Volunteers are needed to cut fabric, batting, and other items to have ready for Pioneer Crafts in the spring.  Most of these projects can be done at home at  your "leisure". There will be an Information session in Mrs. Finkle’s room (103) on Wednesday, October 8th, right after school.  Please contact your child's homeroom teacher, or comment on the bottom of this page if you are willing to help prepare materials, and add whether or not you can attend the Information session.

December 18th Fiestas - Each class will need chili con queso for our parties that afternoon.  Please contact your child's homeroom teacher directly if you would be willing to bring in a crockpot with prepared mild queso.  No other items are needed for the party because students take care of planning and other preparation.

March 2nd Texas Independence Day Parties - Each class will need 24 Texas shaped cookies for our parties that afternoon.  Please contact your child's homeroom teacher directly if you would be willing to bake or provide these.  No other items are needed for the party because students take care of planning and other preparation.

May Pioneer Crafts Assistants - Each class will need volunteers to help students with crafts, and all helpers are welcome.  No previous experience is necessary, just the willingness to focus on the kids and offer support when needed.  Watch in April for volunteer schedules and requests from your child's homeroom teacher.

June 2nd Pioneer Biscuits and Gravy - Each class will need several volunteers to help set up and serve coffee, biscuits, and gravy after our program that morning.  Bill Miller Restaurants are catering for us.

Thank you so much for your help!
